MindStay ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, MindStay.

1. Information We Collect

Usage & Focus Data:

We collect focus session statistics (duration, task categories, timestamps, and streaks) to help you track your productivity and build daily habits.

Account & Profile Information (Optional):

Creating an account is completely optional. If you choose to sign in using Email/Password or Google Sign-In, we store your email address, display name, and unique user ID to provide cloud backup and cross-device synchronization.

Sensitive Permissions (Usage Access):

MindStay requests access to your device's usage statistics (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS). This permission is used exclusively during active focus sessions to detect when you open selected distracting apps so our Distraction Guard feature can guide you back to your work. We do not transmit or sell your app usage history to third parties.

2. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to ensure the app functions securely and efficiently:

  • Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore: Used to provide optional secure sign-in (Email/Password & Google Sign-In) and to back up your focus sessions, categories, and streaks securely in the cloud.
  • Google Analytics for Firebase: Used to collect anonymized telemetry about app performance and feature usage to help us improve user experience.
  • Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements (App Open Ads, Interstitial Ads, and Rewarded Ads). AdMob may collect device identifiers to deliver non-personalized or personalized ads in compliance with Google policies.
  • Google Play Services: Used for platform functionality, notifications, and secure authentication.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your focus statistics are stored locally on your device using a Room Database. If you sign in to an account, your focus data is also encrypted in transit and securely backed up to Google Cloud Firestore. We maintain strict security controls to protect your data from unauthorized access.

4. User Rights and Data Deletion

You have complete ownership and control over your data:

  • Local Data: You can clear your local focus statistics at any time in device settings or by uninstalling the app.
  • Cloud Account & Data Deletion: If you created a cloud account and wish to delete your account and all associated Firestore data, you can request account deletion at any time by emailing us at mindstay@relyvo.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request." We will delete all your personal cloud data within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

MindStay is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app updates and regulatory requirements. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date.
